COLUMBUS, Ga- The Boys and Girls Club of Columbus received some extra help today in funding its after-school programs for children. The Bi-City Golf Social Club presented the Boys and Girls Club with a $1300 donation today.
The money is used to pay for memberships to the Boys and Girls Club for kids whose families cannot afford it. The Boys and Girls Club provides kids a place to go after-school and helps keep them on-track academically.
“[The Boys and Girls Club helps kids] to succeed because they are an extension of the classroom for the Muscogee County School District,” says Frank Brown, School District Director of Transportation.
“[It provides] an opportunity to come to the Boys and Girls Club, get help with their homework, receive a healthy snack, engage in activities with their peers,” says Rodney Close, CEO of the Boys and Girls Club.
The last seven years, Bi-City has donated more than $12,000 to the Boys and Girls Clubs in our area.
